Master schedules reflect our beliefs about how the financial and human resources in our schools can be organized to change the lives of our students. Master schedules can facilitate magic or create tremendous barriers to excellence. The intent of this session is to describe the master scheduling process used at the School of Kearny Digital Media and Design, and Kearny Engineering Innovation and Design from 2004-2014 and share the processes being used at the district level to support 28 secondary sites with transformative master scheduling. This workshop will provide a variety of tools for scheduling and discuss the importance of pathways that use structure, instruction and culture to change student achievement. Master schedules matter.
